A different way of saying Brexit made us vulnerable.

One of the major reasons for the EU being created was middle-sized countries becoming able to stand up to larger countries.

There are compromises, but it's worked.

The EU is now the worlds dominant global standard-setter.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing. Easy to look back on the state dinner and be sarcastic.

Yet as the months have turned to years; illegal arms shipments, lies about base usage, Islamophobic laws and fake terrorists. A lot of controversial decisions seem to have America's fingerprints.
