I'm a bit late today! #TBBChat. I was killing a dragon. (He's fine, he's immortal. It's going to be okay.)

I write fantasy and cozy horror but I'm closing in on the ending of my scifantasy series, A Dragon for Darius. #BookBazaar26

Super excited to share it with the world.

I think it depends on the story. Endings I feel have a lot riding on them (did it pay off well, did I feel like it was a satisfactory place to end) but beginnings do too (will it hook a reader, does it give them a sense of the story). I feel I'm generally better at beginnings, though #TBBChat

#TBBChat I love writing endings! Having everything wrap up in such a satisfying way is rewarding for me.
I'm the type of person that rewrites Page 1/Chapter 1 a bajillion times until I get it right 🥹

Rolling in a little late beacuse I was busy! But hello hello, I'm still Kris and I am currently upset at the new heat wave we're about to get, which will absolutely stifle my writing #TBBChat

I'm going to have to be contrary and say I like the middles best. Beginnings and endings make me nervous and sad. I don't like crafting either of them.

I think I'd say endings! It's fun to think of a good setup, but there's SO much to figure out with regard to onboarding a reader to the world and characters. With endings I can look back on all the threads I've laid out across the story and figure out satisfying knots to cap them off.

In my head, I usually come up with both at the same time. I need both to fill out the rest of the story.

That being said, beginnings are, in my experience, a lot easier to write. Endings... I always wonder if something's missing, or if I did it right.

#TBBChat I think I like beginnings the most. Endings kind of amble to a stop my first pass through. But, my beginnings always need way more attention during edits/subsequent drafts.

I really like beginnings, when everything is fresh and new and I have no idea where I’m headed to yet!
Endings make me sad. I don’t like when things are over even if it’s a HEA. I don’t like change and for me as the author it being over means an upheaval in my daily routine.

Beginnings, easily. It’s more fun for me to open a can of worms than count them up to make sure I’ve got them all back inside said can 😂

My WIPs almost always start at chapter 1, so that helps too. Having the pieces fall into place for a satisfying ending feels damn good tho

Hello #Tbbchat 😍
Im EL, and as of this morning I have cracked open the next piece of the Thawing the Line universe, Im not sure what it is yet but it roars open with a sexy scene and then sinks into a really incredible plot point for two of my most favorite characters.

TBB Chat Q1: What do you like crafting more? Beginnings, or endings?

Hello #TBBChat! I'm Iosefka and I write dark fantasy stories in a multicultural high fantasy setting, as well as horror of the psychological, cosmic, and body variety.

I'm also kicking around the term "pastel Gothic literature" to casually describe my usual themes, but that might not stick.

Sure, let's do this again. I'm Nerdic, and I write comedy-fantasy in a subgenre that my wife calls Epic Slice of Life.

Any life lessons you learn from my books and stories are entirely coincidental.
