The hositilty and tense interaction between Kirk and Reeger was the highlight of the episode.
The impact on the rest of the crew truly added to the uncomfortable atmosphere.

Paul Wesley did a great job as James Kirk. The more he appears, the more he begins to come across as a convincingly accurate portrayl of how a younger Kirk would behave and act. The same quick thinking, confident and smart officer.

For a (so far) one episode appearance, Admiral Reeger was a very well fleshed out, complexed, and three dimensional.
Joe Morton did a superb job bringing the script to the screen. The range of emotion throughout the episode felt real and authentic.

A genuine plotline and theme that one would expect for a Star Trek episode. The kind of grittier, darker and more tense atmosphere that keeps the viewre engaged.
Great character conflict and hostility.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds 4.8 'Orders of Magnitude'
SUPERB. After last week's cringe inducing offering, this was the polar opposite. The absolute best this season, and a contender for a top ranking episode of the entire show. 👍🏼👌🏼

I've just watched 'Orders of Magnitude', episode 408 of Star Trek Strange New Worlds. No spoilers but I think that it is my favourite episode of this season so far.

Well, #StarTrekSNW was a lot better this week. And I loved the ending! ##NoSpoilers

For me personally, #StarfleetAcademy set a very high bar for 2026 #StarTrek. But I’m really enjoying this season all the same! (Highlight so far: still the PUPPETS!!!!! 😃) 🖖🏼💚 #StarTrekSNW #StrangeNewWorlds

First watch is far too soon for me to have a considered opinion (is one even necessary?), but:

I love a good old-fashioned thematic link between A & B stories! And Pike showed growth in the previous episode, while Kirk & Uhura did in this one, in similar & different ways. Very nice! #StarTrekSNW

#StarTrekSNW In today's new episode, I had a hard time getting Daddy Pope ( #Scandal ) out of my head. And it wasn't long after he convinced me that Admiral Reeger was "against type" that he began to *spoiler*...and then...*spoiler*! If you've seen it, I'm sure you know. 🖖

I kept thinking of Admiral Satie and how she and Admiral Reeger both turned protecting the Federation into betraying everything it stands for. Also, both performers were thrilling to watch. #AbsoluteStarTrek #StarTrekSNW #StarTrek 🖖🏽

Action Uhura! #StarTrekSNW

#StarTrekSNW's "Orders of Magnitude"⬆️ begins with a classic establishing shot of the USS Enterprise in orbit of a planet/moon, just like the very first #StarTrekTOS episode "The Man Trap"⬇️ does in its very first scene. I loved this bit of continuity in the week of #StarTrek's 60th anniversary. :-)
