I know it's a long thread, but you should read it and critically examine the provisions of ch. 135. Educate yourself going into the vote in November. I'm not just encouraging you to vote No on 9 because I'm a "gun guy", but because I know good legislation when I see it. Ch. 135 ain't it. #mapoli

I, and many others, are not just reflexively opposed to ch. 135 because we're gun owners. We have carefully examined the law and found it severely lacking. Again, I do this for a living and, while it feels wild to say this myself, I am very good at my job. Ch. 135 is a mess, and a failure. #mapoli

I've shared the framework before, but mostly just pointed people to it and told them how they can use it. The quoted thread is, I think, my first time actually demonstrating its application on something related to ch. 135. I share it because I need people to understand something important: #mapoli

When H. 4885 was being considered, I used a framework that I use at work (and I devised myself from a meta-analysis of literature on drafting good legislation) to evaluate it. It failed every single component of it. #mapoli

I don't use that label lightly, anyone who knows me well knows I do not like to call myself an expert on anything, or talk up my own work. But I'm working on being a better advocate for myself and doing more to take pride in my accomplishments and occupy spaces that I really ought to. #mapoli
