I think this was one of the most powerful statements, television companies choose what they want to portray, and have the power to influence political, social, and economic views of millions all by what they deliver to each household.

I think this is a great point that is made by McLuhan, where we've made a dependency on electric items to the point where its affected sensory information and the people around us. I am also curious on men versus the general public in this scenario!
Just a random thought, since media and television was still relatively new, I wonder how bad the people think it is in today's world, which has done nothing but worked us over even more than ever before. But just my opinion...
I think the graphics have been arguably the most confusing part so far for me. Not only this, but the book refusing to explain the purpose of these photos make it even more confusing. What does a hand with a ring on it have to do with 30 million toy trucks being sold?? (page 9).

Yet again, for a piece of writing written in the 1960s, I think it's awesome that it held true in the "Your Job" section, McLuhan says that all jobs more resemble teaching, learning, and human service. Today's society is still big on these 3 principles and even more digitalized.
Guessing the neighborhood here isn't a real neighborhood but rather an online environment? I'm guessing it's cause electric circuitry is mentioned and that nothing is further than new technology. "You can't go home again" is ironic considering much of media is already at home.

What is the purpose of all the Z's here? An emphasis on a transition? Or is it an emphasis on a transition? (p. 12).
One quote states "students of media are persistently attacked as evaders, idly concentrating on means or processes rather than on "substances'" (p.10).
I believe this means the medium itself is a determinant of society more over the message being delivered. The idea > the product

The line "the medium, or process, of our time-electric technology-is reshaping and restructuring patterns of social independence and every aspect of our personal life" (p.9).
The fact that this was written in the 1960s is scarily accurate since it still holds true to our iPhones today

I chose this because the background picture is very cryptic and I'm trying to understand what it's portraying here. Is this the "medium" that's being described?
I chose this picture because this was the first quote that I read after the initial background information about McLuhan. I think the grammar is already confusing and has made me reread a couple of times to try to understand what this could mean.
