My agent wants me to pitch her ideas before I work on things. Which was daunting at 1st but now I find it really helpful. #kidlitchat

@bonnieadamson.comI worked on four of them today and actually made some progress. It happens in spurts. #kidlitchat
@vbartles.comOh I have no prentensions at any degree of concentration. That's why I have so many things going at any given time. At the slightest whim, my ADHD brain can flit over to something new and shiny and work until it doesn't have that zing... and then I circle away to something else. #KidLitChat
@bonnieadamson.comLOL #kidlitchat
@vbartles.comIronically, I put down a sewing project tonight to join #KidLitChat ... but honestly, is anyone surprised that my brain immediately went to food analogies when I was asked about harvesting ideas? Baking and books are a perfect pairing! #KidLitConfections
@bonnieadamson.comI've got nine open on my desktop right now. That's about all I can handle with any degree of concentration. But the Venerable Folder is keeping the rest safe. #kidlitchat
@johnzeleznikauthor.bsky.socialIt all actually started for me with something a buddy does with his brother. They have a shared folder that they call "Million Dollar Ideas" and some of them are similar to book pitches. I've started sending him some of mine so I have them on record. #kidlitchat
@vbartles.comI tend to keep bouncing between multiple ideas in process in my brain/notebooks/files, so that I always have (at least) 10-15 things going at once (currently I think I have 100+ drafts in various stages). Eventually, I'll finish a whole bunch at once & start rebuilding! #KidLitChat
@bonnieadamson.comRight? It's very frustrating. #kidlitchat
@yap617.bsky.socialI was crazy for stickers related to my characters and story events.
Now I need to write. #kidlitchat
@johnzeleznikauthor.bsky.socialI think we all do that. Something things have staying power, other things become what we scavenge for later work. #kidlitchat
@johnzeleznikauthor.bsky.socialThe basic premise is "What is the 'American epic fantasy?'" I'm putting together the "intro" to it now. I have no idea what it is or what it's going to be when it's done, but it's going to be something. #kidlitchat
