#NewOrleans is safe from #Hurricane #Isaias, but boy, has it been windy yesterday and today! So sorry for people in Pensacola and the panhandle! It’s going to be ugly.

The shear is here and #Isaias is feeling it. Note the "push" of upper westerlies on its outflow. It's strong enough to have made the eyewall very asymmetric, but there is not a lot of time for it to weaken too much now. Additionally, the tornado threat is beginning to the east with waterspouts there

Inland impacts of #Hurricane #Isaias
Will be tornados in Georgia, Florida

And likely large scale flooding in Southern Appalachia (WNC, ETN) as well as flooding in middle TN, AL, Fla

Tornado threat in Hurricane #Isaias is expected to ramp up throughout the afternoon and evening. Already from the KTLH radar, I am seeing mutiple areas of strong rotation in tropical supercells offshore. These are all headed toward land #tornado #wxbluesky #flwx #tropics

The US will be impacted by 2 tropical systems this weekend. Hurricane #Isaias is approaching the Gulf Coast today & Tropical Storm #Rachel will approach the West Coast later this weekend.

Be sure to keep up to date with the latest from BOTH storms at hurricanes.gov and weather.gov.

Satellite imagery overlaid with three forecast track cones: Rachel tracking toward Southern California/Nevada, Simon moving north into western Mexico, and Isaias tracking from the Gulf of Mexico northeast across the U.S.
@bxmatilla.bsky.socialOct 9, 2026, 6:58 PM

To the east of the center of #Isaias, there are a few what I suspect to be transient, low-topped supercells forming offshore of the FL coast. Backed surface winds out of the SE and strong veering aloft could support the potential for isolated tornadoes and tornadic waterspouts in the next few hours.

Unprecedented: Friday is the first time we've had NHC advisories for both the US Atlantic coast ( #Isaias) and US Pacific coast ( #Rachel). And #Simon may hit Mexico as a Cat 4.

NOAA Plane pass just found 951.6mb xtrap pressure significantly below the 959mb the NHC has the storm at. Could be slightly aggressive with the history of NOAA planes xtrap reading, but there is no doubt #Isaias is still strengthening

#Isaias

The name means:

Yahweh is Salvation

Did you know Muslims call Jesus by the name:

Isa?

So, the current hurricane in the news means:

Jesus is Salvation!

He is our only hope. Remember this as you see the destruction around you. He allows the […]

10/09/2026 1p CT update: Hurricane #Isaias is beginning to bring tropical storm conditions to the northern Gulf Coast.

Isaias is a category 3 hurricane with max sustained winds near 120 mph. Fluctuations in intensity are possible through this afternoon, but...

The latest Isaias forecast from NHC continues to nudge the storm east a few miles - following the AI model paths again.

This puts central landfall closer to Fort Walton Beach and Destin, from Pensacola. Significantly good news for Mobile and Biloxi in these forecasts.

Cat 3.
