Exuberant

we named our cat
after Susie Derkins
from Calvin & Hobbes

and...
she loves her mom
LOVES HER

plops on her chest
at any given moment
and purrs as if
heaven itself had opened its doors

but Sunday
she crawled up quietly
as I sat cross legged on the bed

and let me pet her

A party to celebrate
a job well done
#exuberant
at the good result
and the relief
that all of the effort
is all worth it
Onward and upwards
to greater heights
and bigger challenges!

A journey #embarked,
in a canoe skinned with bark,
and a quiet dog.

Three knocks past midnight
exuberant raps
wake me from slumber,
breath
echoing,
dare I
place my
feet on the floorboards
and walk to the window;

heartbeat
quickening,
perhaps ‘twas a nightmare,
a reflection
of my
guilt

Wounds of the
past seep deep
happiness and
joy fleet brief
So much chaos
and death we
breathe grief
everywhere
we walk dead
bodies beneath
feet some people
Say it’s a hellfire
so it may seem but
death is nothing
but sleep without
dreams

Despite how
vast and
overwhelming
the darkness is
it can’t extinguish
even a flicker of light

No matter how
negative or hopeless
a situation may seem
there’s always a flicker
of hope and just a
flicker of hope
is all you need

Embark into the
Exuberant madness which
Enticed fickle fools

you can play golf with lightnting

Ex-uberant

A gruntled former ride-share driver.

it's easy to feel #exuberant when things merrily go your way
but what if hardship strikes disrupting a happy go lucky day
do we huff & puff attempting to blow the house down
do we sit it the corner frozen with a fixed stern frown
that choice mainly depends on you #emoetry #poetry #WritingCommunity
