The tragedy came quietly.
So quietly,
I couldn't tell
quite when it arrived.
And who is to say
when tragedy
has ended:
when a life emptied
of its joy
has bloodlet
all the pain that followed?
Or when we decide
that none of it
can be permitted
to call the shots?
