@taniaspencer.bsky.socialAlso, had governments retained #NPIs such as #N95 masks, #AirCleaners, #COVID PCR testing (negative results from #RATs are unreliable), paid sick leave, & educated the public about the risk of #Reinfections - we could possibly have got by with an annual vax for most, with less COVID in circulation.
@taniaspencer.bsky.socialAn odd opinion piece: especially in light of the fact that #COVID is not yet endemic (steady/predictable); surges at least 2x p.a.; there's 0 cure for #LongCOVID, vaccination slightly reduces the risk of which; & vaccine acquired immunity is short lived (so 2x yearly vaccination makes sense).
