Suspended Hellebuyck Casts Shadow as Jets Open Camp Without Star Netminder www.chrisd.ca/2026/09/17/c... #NHLJets

#NHLJets injury updates per Scott Arniel: Hope is Elias Salomonsson can be game-ready by end of October, maybe sooner.

Walker Duehr is further away. And Garrett Brown was feared to have suffered season-ending injury at prospect tourney. But bullet dodged. No timeline tho.

Heard it before.. Don't believe it at all.

I'll only believe that the #NHLJets are truly ready to embrace change and new ideas when 81 and 55 are on seperate lines for more than 5 minutes.

#NHLJets coach Scott Arniel said analytics played a big role in their team review this summer and how they’ve tried to shape potential roster decisions/lines going forward here.

Trade him or let him rot. I don’t care. #nhljets

And #NHLJets Kyle Connor on how a Connor Hellebuyck return would be met within the room — and whether this has impact their friendship.

👇

#NHLJets Kyle Connor was extremely candid today speaking about good friend and (future former) teammate Connor Hellebuyck.

On the message Hellebuyck is sending by going on strike and his own thoughts about remaining in Winnipeg.

👇

Connor Hellebuyck and his family were subject to so much post-Olympic vitriol that both the #NHLJets security team and even police had to get involved.

On a relationship that has gone south -- with no quick fix.

My story: www.winnipegfreepress.com/breakingnews...

#NHLJets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff said their security team and even the police got involved to an extent after threats and online vitriol were directed towards Connor Hellebuyck and his family following the Olympics. Can’t speak to how much that has played a role here.

I asked #NHLJets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff if there was ever an understanding/agreement in place to move Connor Hellebuyck prior to his contract expiring should he have a chance of heart.

Said that was never the case here.

#NHLJets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff.

“Unfortunately this situation is what it is. Just looking to find a resolution that works for both sides.”

“The choices that he makes are the choices that he makes.”

#NHLJets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff is about to speak about Connor Hellebuyck (and other matters).

Who’s ready to go camping?

Day 1, Season 11 for me on the #NHLJets beat starts now.

REPORTER: Chevy... Hellebuyck asked you for a trade early March and it's taken you 6 months to make that move or any significant move to help the #NHLJets rebound from a missed playoff year. Do you feel like you're doing enough or taking the right steps to help this hockey club?

CHEVELDAYOFF:

This question NEEDS to be asked of Chevy tomorrow.. Yes the #NHLJets are a year removed from a Presidents Trophy, but in that season Chevy didn't make any moves to help a Cup run.

Then in the summer he let Nik Ehlers walk and tried to replace him with Towes and Nyqvist.

I'd want out too.

Nah. Time to swing full force. at Chevy and #NHLJets management. I don't care any more. It's unbelieveable how often they get away with just being absolute shit managment and given then "well they have a tough job in Winnipeg.."

FUCK. THAT. They suck at their jobs and they need to be called out.

#nhljets announce G Connor Hellebuyck has been suspended for failure to report to training camp.
