I’ve worked with beta-readers and when they have similar questions about the plot or characters then I know something isn’t working 😹😹 #kidlitchat

No! Must investigate. #kidlitchat
They are great. Have you seen the new MEGA Poptarts....they are SO GOOD! #kidlitchat
All of them should be hesitant to wield absolutes like "always" and "never" #kidlitchat Because #creativity AND this is a weird, fluctuating biz
For an agent, I need communication. Just a simple "nothing to report" will soothe me for weeks and that was an issue with my last agent. #kidlitchat
Agreed!! Yes. I am also a fan of the Toaster Strudel. #kidlitchat
I've been lucky that I've had some great betas that know how I do what I do and are really good at showing me what I can do better, which is all I want. #kidlitchat
I always tell writers that I view being an agent as their business partner. We're working together toward the common goal of selling their book (so ideally both making money so we can eat). I don't view it as hiring another person but as a partnership. #kidlitchat
A little validation is always good, but from an editor, which the partner I work with most often, I want accuracy and no BS outlook. I have no issue taking critique from an editor. #kidlitchat
It's so FREAKING good. #kidlitchat
Excellent! #kidlitchat
hahahaha #kidlitchat
I work with a manuscript consultant and she helps me with craft, she is supportive but also helps me to take my stories to another level — edit things out or go deeper with a story, what am I trying to say or do. #kidlitchat
Whew. This is a tough enough business.
#kidlitchat
Still poptarts. #kidlitchat
No poptarts?!? #kidlitchat
Good one. I've ALWAYS wanted to work with others, as a crit partner and beta for sure. But I've always wanted to co-write with someone. And do a graphic novel....I could go on. #kidlitchat
We know the answer is "Winning lottery numbers in advance and poptarts" obviously, but we are looking for the less conventional answers today here at #kidlitchat
