Yes. It'll just be a while because of the whole budget issue.
#pretendpanel I think it’s great they exist, but unfortunately I can’t focus at all on audio-only formats, unless I already know the text by heart. Same thing for podcasts: the Magnus Archives looks great, but alas! On the flip side, reading aloud can be a lot of fun.
This is honestly a dream if mine to get to hear an audiobook of mine. Its always probably out of my budget for a long long time.
#PretendPanel If I have enough sales and people ask about it. Audiobooks are so expensive to make from what I gather, and I'd hate to invest all that money for naught. Still I would love to be able to do it some day.

I would LOVE to actually record my own audiobook for #GodsOfAtalantis! I'm not a great actor or anything, but I could save money doing it myself plus I'd get the accents how I want them 😂
Now if only I had the time & energy... sigh.
I'd definitely love to! Funding it would be the main hurdle. I'd wanna gets actors really passionate about the project. I think Savage as You could be an incredibly fun, lively audio book!
Plans? No.
Dreams? Maybe.
I have a good reading voice and I had considered hacking together a low-quality “Scarlet reads her book to you” recording that I would include free with any text copy by request.
I just don't have to confidence in the quality I could produce, nor the time.
Hope you all have LOVELY weekend plans, #PretendPanel!
Who knows what the future holds 🤷♂️ We aren't even sure what we'll do once this novel is done --- self publish? Put it on #BuyMeACoffee & set it as a subscription? That's a decision for another day; either way we'll likely record us reading it.
As of now, no.
That being said, I don’t want to alienate my audience so if it becomes something people want I will do it.
I've long now realized my voice has a very soporific effect, so I probably won't be reading it myself. But I'll think about paying someone to record it professionally, if the ebooks or print is doing well. Sure! That's such a long way from now, #PretendPanel. Gotta focus on just #WritingFiction now.
#pretendpanel Sept 12
Sure. Others enjoy audio.
But I need to see the page, move through its characters and story worlds at my own pace, fully focused if spellbound by the spatial arrangement of the page, with its distinctive patterns of type.
#PretendPanel 12. Once I have the money to hire someone to narrate the story (or maybe two someones, one for each POV character in Books 1 and 2), sure.
#PretendPanel 11/12
I missed yesterday so I’ll combine.
I fucking LOVE audiobooks. It’s my preferred way to read.
My husband is a sound engineer who has a bunch of recording equipment. He mentioned recording an audiobook version of my works together. That would be a freaking dream.
No immediate plans, but I'm not opposed to the idea. One of my first published short stories was adapted for a podcast, and I think it worked pretty well. I'll put the pink in the comments, if anyone wants to listen and tell me.
The only way this would happen is if I manage to make enough money through sales to invest into future book production, or if someone else would be willing to pay for it.
I *could* do it myself, technically, but I don't have a voice for audiobooks.
I have a plan to do it myself someday. I just have to buy the software and learn to edit it and find a quiet place to record and... and... and...
Like many indie authors, that's the only way I could afford to do it. #pretendpanel #WritingCommunity #Writers #Authors #WritingPrompts
