The kid explaining McLuhan to his dad kind of makes the book ironic because we've been reading this confusing book and been trying to put the pieces together, all for the last page to make the most sense. What an ending #beingmassaged

I found this quote interesting because at first I had trouble understanding what it meant but as I thought about it I realized something. For you to erase, you have to notice a mistake. Without erasing, you can't fix it to make it right. Once you notice, than you can fix it. #beingmassaged #pencil

McLuhan said on page 67 that tv doesn't work because it needs involvement. This just made me curious about what he may say about TikTok or instagram reels. Or even listening to music while doing homework or a task. #beingmassaged #multitasker

McLuhan says that humor helps us notice things in the world we may not see on our own. Sometimes I notice that when I see memes, it makes me see a topic, a person, a show, or anything a little differently. #beingmassaged #memes

this was interesting because McLuhan describes the alphabet as technology. When I think of technology I think of computers or phones, not the alphabet. Now that I'm thinking about it, it was technology back then in order to communicate. Writing helped people organize their thoughts. #beingmassaged

My fake McLuhan quote would be " Your phone isn't in your pocket, Your pocket is in your phone" I would put this where he talks about AI and technology taking over because it kinda refers to technology controlling everything. #beingmassaged #robots

“All media work us over completely” and “The medium is the massage.” (Pg. 18) This line helped me understand why it says massage and not message in the title. Social media shapes us rather than just delivering a message, which is why it has become so powerful in recent years. #beingmassaged

“When this circuit learns your job, what are you going to do?” This line almost aged a little too well. This immediately brought my brain to AI and how it is slowly taking the jobs of everyday people. The fact that a book this old predicted the AI circus has my mind blown #beingmassaged #AI
