A great start to the day with my third self found Worcestershire Ring-necked Duck this morning at Clifton Pits. Presumably a returning drake. Hopefully he will stick around and start looking a bit more dapper. #WorcsBirds

With less heat haze this evening at Ryall Court Pits, I managed to get some clearer photos of the long-stay juvenile stone-curlew. #WorcsBirds

Otherwise quiet with just a few House Martins heading south.

Occasionally I doth venture south....
I still keep a Worcestershire list so a Stone Curlew at Ryall Court Pits was too tempting for a county tick. Showing well on the far side of the lagoon this morning; still present at 9am. Also Marsh Harrier over Holly Green #WorcsBirds

Stone-curlew at Ryall Court Pits earlier today, only the second one I’ve seen in Worcestershire, the other being at Shenstone in 2008 #WorcsBirds

The Eurasian Stone-curlew at Ryall Court Pits, Upton-upon-Severn earlier today.

Its cryptic plumage blended in perfectly with its well chosen surroundings.

A superb and well deserved find by @andywarr.bsky.social.
