Huntsman Yuri of Adamos is 100% the most cynical. Almost everyone he trusted betrayed him in the last war. He trusts no one, not even himself, and has barely any hope

Most cynical character? Oh, Sahar. I love her, but her hatred of Historytown, her thoughts that history is terrible (which maybe she has a point), even her takes on true love… (Then again, she's a paramedic, and I think that would make anyone cynical. Never mind her past.)

Most cynical character? Definitely Sam.
But, as someone who has experienced the murder of her father, the death of her brother, an uncaring mother, abuse at home, and the horrors of time travel, you can't blame her for not having the most optimistic view of the world.

That's really hard for me as in my story, only two of the characters haven't had the hope beaten out of them by life. I'd vote the most cynical is Dave's brother because he actively tries to read into people to prove they don't have the best intentions.

D9. The MC is probably the most cynical - though most people would probably be cynical when presented with time travel as fact rather than fantasy. Unless you're a quantum scientist or a bent politician in my story, you're going to doubt what the powers that be are telling you.

I suppose Alba, leader of a nomadic scavenger culture, is cynical. She doesn't believe outsider help is worthwhile, that her people can only stand alone. Circumstances in her community push her to even consider violence against outsiders before asking for help.
