The dark-plumaged cormorant is captured in full profile, flying from left to right across the frame. Its wings are fully extended downwards, and its webbed feet are lightly brushing against the surface, creating small, distinct ripples or splashes in the water. The water occupies the vast majority of the frame, showing a textured, rippling texture with subtle variations of light and shadow reflecting off the surface.
