I have some issues with the way the Dream of Macsen Wledig is exploited to frame these finds - the finds are exciting enough without the typically unnuanced "could prove a myth is true!" story that the media love so such. But still: yay! Interesting finds!

Do philosophers care about fragments? They should!
These unassuming leaves were recycled from a commentary on Aristotle's Physics written by an Oxford scholar in the third quarter of the 13th century.

12 Oct: Feast of St Bec mac Dé (d. c. 553–7). Best Prophet of his day; spoke with 9 men at once & answered all their Q's in 1 reply! Predicted High King Diarmait mac Cerbaill's death with 3 details (drowned, burned, & have his head crushed by a roofbeam)! Poems also attributed to him. #medievalsky

12 Oct: Feast Day of St Nainnid of Inis Cais/ #Inishcash, Co. #Galway, an island on Lough Corrib, not far from Oughterard (Prof Elva Johnston). Lough Corrib reputed to have 365 islands, but actually has 1,327! Lots of isolation for monks wanting solitude! 📷©Guide to Connemara #Ireland #medievalsky

#MedievalSky, I have a music question:
The Angel in the Wakefield Second Shepherds' Play is specifically directed to sing "Gloria in excelsis".

In Northern England in the mid-1400s, what setting of the Gloria would they likely be using?

Bonus if it's in triple time ("three breves to a long").
