Full on disdain delivery here. Gallagher mentioned how he was given the role of Riku — he didn't audition for it. The casting director sought an actor who had (I'm paraphrasing) "a slight darkness" to their voice, and felt he was their guy.

And boy, he was indeed.

Upon closer listening, Gallagher's delivery here hears scornful. The hints are there, even if it's obvious much later on. This isn't the playful, teasing Riku — it's the one who drank the Kool-Aid Maleficent served.

Amusing how Maleficent advises her cohort not to let darkness consume them. Does she think she can tame it, as does everyone else? I'll have to pay closer attention in my battle with her at Hollow Bastion.

Maleficent truly didn't need anything more to manipulate Riku. His aquamarine eyes lit up, jealous at the sight before him.

For in this moment, Riku *truly* embraced the darkness in his heart. We all know where that led him though.

I recall how, in the original, you needed to be *at least* level 10 to beat Leon... and you weren't coming out of that unscathed. The battle was hard to win by design.
