Lonely Kilnave Chapel, close to Loch Gruinart on the north side of the Isle of Islay, and its weather-worn 1300-year-old cross. The chapel was the site of an atrocity committed during the Battle of Traigh Ghruinneart in 1598. More pics and info: www.undiscoveredscot...

Today's #FamilyHistory Rabbit Hole was playing catchup with Mr GeniAus #DNA matches. I think I've found another branch of the Gillespies from #Islay in #Scotland that came to Brisbane in #Australia and another that went to Ontario in #Canada. Now to find some records to support these matches.
