8. By fragmenting everything in our lives these parts seem to be inevitable or unstoppable, meanwhile these feelings are the byproduct of being sucked in the black hole of the media. This artificial perspective that we generate isn't realities. #hwa2 #thinkinginparts

no because genuinely, I was confused on what this book was about when I simply opened to the first page.. nonetheless, I left learning so many lessons from the cartoons and graphics and countless images and paragraphs of knowledge! #hwa2 #knowledgeBook

at the point 5:58 in the video, Ashley mentions the way AI is shaping what we now think is real-- literally, I was thinking about how the world was before AI was so heavily incorporated in our world now. How are we able to tell what's real nowadays?! #hwa2 #thinkingBack

7. Critics fall into the habits and practices that they're trying to resist. #hwa2 #flippingdewey

John and Melvil Dewey are a contrast between the anti-environmentalist vs environmentalist thought. One shares a way of thought that blocks others why one poses questions that spark debate and promote thinking outside of the system #hwa2 #thetwodeweys

The instagram rabbithole really does do this to me more than anything. Instagram was just a way for me to keep social and see how my friends are. Now it's turned to keeping me hooked through shortform mindless content that gives me regret when I get off #hwa2 #mediafunhouse

i might be becoming more dangerous by realizing that everything on social media isn't actually as glamorous as it seems. i'm starting to trust myself and my own judgement now lol #hwa2 #becomingdangerous

McLuhan wants us to stop thinking in parts because we can miss the bigger picture. When fragmentation becomes normal, we stop noticing how everything connects and how the entire system shapes us. #hwa2 #thinkinginparts

5. Amateurs bring the anti-environmental, and awareness focused perspective that professionals lack due to strict acceptance of groundrules of the environment. I'd rather be an amateur at something in order to learn eventually or find something new about how to do something. #hwa2 #amateurvsexpert

One way I might be becoming dangerous is by being critical of media when I watch it. If I see a post that is questionable instead of accepting it I will realize its wrong or misleading and express my own thoughts. #hwa2 #becomingdangerous

McLuhan flips John Dewey’s quote not to dismiss him, but to highlight the irony of being caught in the very fragmentation he is criticizing. #hwa2 #flippingdewey

The most important thing they have both taught me is to really take in what im watching and see how it is trying to shape me or change how I see things. After I should be critical of the content and see if it actually makes sense for me. #hwa2 #somethingishappening

#hwa2 #becomingdangerous When we are aware of media and our environments not just as contained entities, but as continuous events, we are able to become like the amateurs and jesters that go against how things are "supposed to be" and continually challenge perceptions.

@rw20mmc.bsky.socialSep 21, 2026, 2:35 AM

4. Media environments cause us to look in and blindside other things while anti-environments do the opposite, question your perceived realities and open your mind. Stuff like what just happened? or who benefits from me using or thinking this? #hwa2 #antienvironmental

i'm loving the editing in this video so far lol #hwa2

McLuhan wants us to stop thinking in parts in order to stop the way in which we think and come to outcomes. He doesn't want us to keep going back to a structure but rather think freely and see how the way we think is intertwined and flows. #hwa2 #thinkinginparts

@gabi-senior-year.bsky.socialSep 21, 2026, 2:33 AM

#hwa2 #somethingishappening I watched HWA2 over the course of two days, so between the first and second day I did notice that when I went on social media I felt more aware (and kind of creeped out) by what I was being fed. It made me less interested in falling down the mindless rabbit hole.

@kimbo10.bsky.socialSep 21, 2026, 2:32 AM

Melvil Dewey tried to organize everything into categories (which ended up reducing people to numbers), while John Dewey warned about fragmentation but fell victim to it regardless. This matters because it shows how easily we can be shaped by systems without noticing. #hwa2 #thetwodeweys

@jaredjunioryear.bsky.socialSep 21, 2026, 2:31 AM

Mcluhen wants us to stop thinking in parts so that we can see what is happening around us and always capture the full picture. He does not want us to be controlled by invisible logic that we do not actually want to have but reasonble smart thoughts. #hwa2 #thinkinginparts
