After my grandparents died, I could feel conversations close around their names. Sometimes I just wanted to finish a story about them, but it felt like I sucked the air out of the room.
If there’s someone you still want to talk about, you can tell me about them here.

Grief support for military families: today is Gold Star Mother's and Family's Day. Public grief does not stay public. The cameras leave and the family is still standing in a house with a bedroom nobody goes in. Say the name. #DrAyngi #GriefSupport #HealthyBoundaries

Post 2/2 They may feel ashamed for grieving, or even gaslit into thinking they “shouldn't be so upset”. So let’s just agree: grief doesn't require social permission to exist. The absence of someone else's approval doesn't make the loss less devastating to experience.

A quiet moment at the threshold of day.

Simply sharing the sunrise is a reminder of how natural transitions can be when we allow ourselves to sit quietly and witness them.

Are you creating space for quiet moments in your week?

As an death doula, I hold compassionate, non-judgmental space for all your losses. You shouldn't have to justify your grief to deserve support.

We'll finish this series tomorrow with a look at why naming it matters, and what the emotional toll looks like. 3/3 #deathdoula #queergrief #griefsupport

Not all grief gets a card, flowers, or a funeral. Disenfranchised grief happens when society doesn't recognize or validate your loss, leaving you to mourn in silence. Your pain is real, even when the world doesn't name it. 🧵 1/3

Did you know that different types of grief exist? One form is disenfranchised grief, which happens when a loss isn't socially acknowledged or validated.

Tomorrow, we'll dive deeper into what this looks like. 🕯️

Vigil support can include:
✨ Soft lighting & gentle sensory comfort
🎶 Calming music or guided breathing
🕯️ Honoring personal rituals & identity
🛡️ Shielding the space from stress

In other words, we provide a soft, steady anchor when time slows down. 💙

Grief support for caregivers: the leaves are turning and nobody asked the tree. Some of you are standing in a life that changed without your consent. The bare part is not failure. It is what makes next year possible. #DrAyngi #GriefSupport #AnticipatoryGrief
