![Changes to the site this week: September 7, 2026: BUGFIX: On the Files page, the update, move and delete icons on file rows had lost their link colour, hover and pointer cursor, and in dark mode tooltips showed dark text on a dark background. beta.groups.io BUGFIX: In the Files page's Move dialog, choosing a destination folder that had subfolders expanded them before the dialog closed. The folder an item is already in now shows a greyed-out [move here] instead of a link. beta.groups.io BUGFIX: In the activity log, clicking a file link displayed the raw file contents in the page. File links now open in a new tab and let the browser handle the file, as on the Files page, and moved-folder entries now include the folder link icon that moved-file entries have. beta.groups.io CHANGE: On the Files page, the Update dialog for a file is now titled Update File, and the New Folder and add-link dialogs keep their Add button disabled until the required fields are filled in. beta.groups.io CHANGE: On /bulkremove, the Send Removed Member Notice checkbox now comes before Upload Addresses, and the Remove Members button is disabled until addresses are entered or an upload file is chosen. beta.groups.io CHANGE: On /subgroupmembers, the Update button is disabled until there are changes to apply, and the Filter dropdown shows labels with no colour the same way /members does. beta.groups.io CHANGE: The intro text on /filesync and /syncconfig is now on an info panel and the /filesync note had a missing space, the Verify Logout dialog on the integrations pages has an icon on its Yes button, and the message editor's corners match the other form controls. beta.groups.io BUGFIX: In chats, leaving a chat produced a "Joined" event bubble instead of "Left". The join=1 parameter also stayed in the address after joining a chat and produced spurious "Joined" bubbles on a refresh; it is now removed once the join has been sent. beta.groups.io CHANGE: In chats, the emoji picker now closes when you click outside it, and the profile links in the Chat Members dialog open in a new tab. beta.groups.io CHANGE: On /addchat, the chats dropdown reads "Closed Chats" when editing a closed chat, and a Cancel button returns to the chats list. On /managechatmembers, the checkboxes use the current style, the Update button is disabled until there are changes, the breadcrumb includes the Chats parent, and the link next to the count is labelled Clear. beta.groups.io BUGFIX: On /directory, the bottom page navigation could be covered by the scroll-to-top button. Viewing another member's profile no longer expands the Subscription menu and highlights Profile in the sidebar. beta.groups.io CHANGE: On the group home page, "Members can edit their messages" now shows a check mark, and on /edithashtag the Lock Topic checkbox is grouped with Topic Duration. beta.groups.io CHANGE: On the Files page, the Upload Folder dialog's Upload button is disabled until a folder is selected. beta.groups.io BUGFIX: In dark mode, the restyled list pages (/pending, /activity, /members, /exportgroup, /analytics, /banneddomains, /subgroupmembers, /managechatmembers, /chats and the rest) had lost their alternating row colours, and the row hover colour differed from before. Both are back to the way they were. beta.groups.io September 8, 2026: CHANGE: The current page in page navigation is now highlighted in blue. Previously the only hint was the cursor changing when hovering over it, and the restyled pages had lost even that. beta.groups.io NEW: An email message attached to a message (the message/rfc822 part Thunderbird creates when you drag a message into a compose window, or an .eml file) was shown on the website as a generic attachment that could only be downloaded. It now has an envelope icon, and clicking it opens the attached message in a viewer showing its From, Date, To and Subject headers and the body, with the .eml still available to download. Attachments inside the attached message are listed by name. beta.groups.io BUGFIX: When plain text messages were converted for display, web addresses were turned into links without being escaped, so an address containing a quote character could break the link markup. API BUGFIX: /adddatabaserow, /updatedatabaserow, and /deletedatabaserow returned misleading ID errors for JSON request bodies and reported malformed forms as server errors. They now explain which form encodings are supported and return bad_request errors for malformed forms. beta.groups.io API CHANGE: The database row write endpoints used the same error for missing, malformed, and nonexistent IDs. Their error messages now distinguish those cases. beta.groups.io API CHANGE: The database row write documentation incorrectly listed csrf as required when using API keys. It now explains that only cookie authentication requires it, documents form encoding and Google Apps Script's payload option, and clarifies that column field names use the IDs from getdatabases. beta.groups.io BUGFIX: Some bounce messages from Exim mail servers showed only a generic error code instead of the delivery failure explanation. We now extract the detailed error from these messages and correctly identify mailbox-full errors as quota failures. API CHANGE: The API reference now has search, endpoint summaries, clearer parameter requirements and limits, expandable response examples, and named request examples. An editable request builder generates cURL, Go, and JavaScript code, and remembers the selected language. The layout, navigation, and code formatting are also improved on phones and in dark mode. API CHANGE: Corrected request examples for /gettopics and /updatepoll, and removed unsupported example parameters from /getfeed and /getpoll. The documentation now clarifies how omitted and empty values affect /updatewebhook and that /deletedatabaserow returns an empty HTTP 200 response. September 9, 2026: BUGFIX: RSVP comments in the event Responses page's gallery view were clipped to a single line. Comments now wrap so the full text is readable, including on phones. beta.groups.io BUGFIX: Removing yourself from a subgroup through the member list or member page could leave the sidebar and role badge unchanged, and parent moderators could be incorrectly labelled Parent Owner. The page now fully refreshes after self-removal, and inherited roles display the correct Parent Owner or Parent Mod badge. beta.groups.io September 11, 2026: BUGFIX: When a search was active on /members, saving a member's details could leave their row showing the previous values.
