@marxistdad.bsky.socialIf you like the @netflix.com series #Below & want a bit of the history it hinted at about how Canada's state & capitalist ruling class "relocated" & destroyed 300+ communities of Newfoundland's independent fishermen (1946-75) see "Billy Crane Moves Away" (1967). #NFB

@marxistdad.bsky.social“Jeezis b’y” indeed. Those Newf accents in #Below are mostly both inconsistent and unconvincing.

@bobbybless219.bsky.social#OverallThoughts: Netflix's #Below is a perplexing limited series. On one hand, if it were intentionally made to be reminiscent of Roger Corman's later films... they passed with flying colors. If not, then it's just a sloppy series that ultimately spirals into laughably bad territory.

@sharrow.eurosky.socialThe accents in #Below are sending me.
I know they are Newfies and so the range of scots/irish accents.
Josh Hartnett is as easy on the eyes as ever but, his accent is making me twitch.
@thingsbynik.bsky.socialFinished watching ‘Below’ this evening. What started out as a decent mystery drama, it turned into a really poor B-Movie style by the end. CGI, acting, story all fell off a cliff badly. #Below
