Froward Cove, Froward Point, S Devon. @jacob-wood.bsky.social's elusive #OrtolanBunting finally gave itself up and showed well for several minutes from 18.15 this evening. Thanks for the updates & advice from local birders. #DevonBirds #UKBirding @rarebirder.bsky.social @birdguides.bsky.social

It was a no-show for Osprey on the Axe this morning, but there was a female Kingfisher flitting around various points near the hide, to keep us occupied. #Devonbirds

Couldn’t resist another stop at Seaton Wetlands on the way home from work for a second round with this juvenile pectoral sandpiper. It put on a great show in the evening shadow of the hide. Amazing views considering I’d never seen one a week ago! #Birds #DevonBirds #WildlifePhotography

Great day out to Seaton Wetlands yesterday with @mave23.bsky.social where the Pectoral Sandpiper showed very well along with Ruff, Wood Sandpiper, 2 Curlew Sandpiper and 2 Spotted Redshank although the star of the show was an Osprey fishing in front of the Tower Hide #devonbirds

Today on Seaton Marsh, Curlew and Wood Sandpiper, Green and Spotted Shank. Snipe. The Osprey dived in front of Tower Hide, amazing to see it so close.

There was no sign of the Osprey in the early morning (07/09/26), but there are still plenty of interesting small birds on the wetlands. Pec Sand, Common Sand, Curlew Sand, Common Snipe, Ruff, Kingfisher and Spot Red. #Devonbirds

The juvenile Osprey on the Axe seems to be getting more efficient at fishing. One aborted swoop then a successful dive. It was only a small mullet(?), so hopefully it will return later in the day. #Devonbirds

Hope's Nose, S Devon. 07.35-09.40. 15 #CloudedYellow butterflies were a site best for me this morning. 2 calling, flyover Yellow Wagtails, 5 Willow Warblers, 2 Wheatears, 2 Painted Ladies, and a Hummingbird hawk-moth were the best of the rest. #UKBirding #DevonBirds #Birds

Seaton Wetlands was a wader fest today. Pectoral Sandpiper dropped in at around noon (great find by visiting birders) Singles of Curlew & Wood Sandpipers, Ruff, plus 2 Spotted Redshank made a very special visit! #DevonBirds
