B'alith was determined that today was going to be the day he would manage to get out of bed entirely under his own power.

All things considered, he was recovering fantastically well for someone who had died—twice, apparently, according to the chirurgeons' reports—not terribly long ago. His more superficial injuries had been swept away under the force of powerful healing magic that some of the star's best and brightest had poured into him, and he was beginning to have some days where he was awake almost as much as he was asleep. He still couldn't feed or dress himself, let alone attempt something as complex as walking to the bathroom and using it unassisted, but the fact that he was alive and well enough to complain about it was nothing shy of a miracle.

He was growing so very, very tired of miracles.

Story Snippet: (ShB character spoilers)

The small party of scions finds themselves cornered in the room, a dead end. And a not at all small legion is following not far behind them.

Krile worries aloud as she frantically looks around the room they've just run into. "Oh… There must be some manner of egress from this room…"

For their part, Peridot, G'raha, and Estinien have made a defensive line at the door.

Estinien asks the question they are all thinking. "Any plans?"

In the silence brought on by the lack of an answer, the Warrior of Light takes her own look around the room, and tries to take mental stock of the directions they have been traveling. Perhaps…

When an answer still does not come, she becomes resolute in what she must do. Though they would never agree if they knew what it was…

Even now the Scions of the Seventh Dawn shouted in confusion. Some wanted to stop him, others realized this was what needed to be done for the greater good. In this moment, however, his attention was entirely focused on the man kneeling in front of him on the verge of breaking from the strain of containing so much light aether. It was a burden he had never wished for Esca to suffer, but took solace knowing that, by his hand, the Hrothgar would soon be freed from this pain and be the hero the Exarch always known him to be.

So, a while back an FC friend made me a lovely screenie of my WoL snuggling with G'raha on a sunbed ala Moonfire.
I tried to write something based around it, but initially failed. Today, for #FFXIVWrite, I finally managed a little story (with much Scion shenanigans).
