Lonesome in the bones,
Voice cracking from lack of use,
Just a background noise.

Sometimes you will risk feeling lonesome

In order to be nurtured by solitude

might not matter at all
in the long run

My temperature is rising,
I’m feeling one with
the sun. Blood pressure
about to burst out of the
top of my head.
Volume of voice loud
as bullhorn, I must put
out this wildfire before
It devours my soul.

How incensed must we get?
We live in truths that
sound like the cruelest lies
banned from whitest of
history books
yet we hope someone
else will do our work;

stand firm
stand true
maintain focus
