Are you more comfortable writing to a structure or freeform?

If you're writing poetry in a particular poetic form, do it properly. Unpopular opinion?

I always have a structure in mind for my prose; always be trying something. But it's constructed for a purpose, not a […]

#WritersCoffeeClub 19/9: Are you more comfortable writing to a structure or freeform?
As per, there’s a marked distinction between my non-fiction work and fiction. The former was often highly structured; e.g. a walking guidebook is separated into…

Intelligence. It seems to be much more rare than I thought.

"Fiend" existed only in books, and rhymed in my head with "friend".

#WritersCoffeeClub – Sept 18. Share a word you've used only to learn later you were pronouncing or using it wrong.

I remember someone laughing at me saying "interSTICes" rather than "inTERstices." I still think the "correct" pronunciation is dumb. It's "interSTICial" after all.

I remember […]

There are probably a lot I've been mispronouncing in my head while reading, but only the little voice gets it wrong... he's angry about that...

I wish! At this point my writing goal is so small to make it manageable but I STILL don’t accomplish it. 😅

"Sheetala".
Until I heard her pronounce it, I was putting the emphasis on the lat syllable, so I said "sheTALA". It's Hindi, not English, so it should have been be "SHEtala"

#WritersCoffeeClub Sep 17: Do you try to have a regular writing goal? Why or why not?

200 words/day

It's a very obtainable goal for me that allows me to feel satisfaction every day.

In ten days, that's 2 000 words.

In a year it's 73 000 words.

Everything counts, though it's harder to keep […]

Nope. Unfortunately, I write as I get inspired. Then came the middle of the novel. Drat.

No worries. I'll figure it out.

#WritersCoffeeClub Sept. 17: Do you try to have a regular writing goal? Why or why not?

#WritersCoffeeClub ~ Do you try to have a regular writing goal? Why or why not?

My #writing is cumulative. I write the best I can, even for a first draft. Even if it's only a few words each day. I don't write stuff I'll have to delete later just for the sake of daily word count
