There’s lots to like in THE JULIA SET (fractals in images, Anderson/Infiniti/Hoss/Bailey, solid humour, showing true support), which makes the not great stuff (the shitty dude who was see-through & the relationship stuff) all the more frustrating. They did the name Mandelbrot dirty too! #TIFF26
Based on a true story that's equal parts unpleasant and ridiculous, EVIL GENIUS is a bizarre biographical heist dark comedy about the even more bizarre Pizza Bomber case. Full of manipulation, back-stabbing, and pure idiocy, this toxic true crime story is shockingly uncompelling. #TIFF26
43 - Musk: Not much new in this lengthy documentary about Elon Musk, but truly disturbing to have it gathered all in one place #TIFF26
TREES ARE WATCHING may be one of the biggest disappointments of the festival. It's got an intriguing premise (with some goofy A Useful Ghost vibes), but the film falls apart quickly thanks to a terrible script and an overly self-serious tone. #TIFF26
Any guesses for this year’s TIFF People’s Choice winner? Based on the audience reaction to LA BOLA NEGRA last night, I’d say it’s very much a candidate - and at least a lock for the International People’s Choice Award. #TIFF26 📽️
A story of faith, family & fatherhood, YOUR MOTHER YOUR MOTHER YOUR MOTHER combines action, meditative emotional drama, and a surprising dash of comedy to tell its unique variation on a ticking clock thriller. Mahershala Ali shines as a father willing to do anything to protect his children. #TIFF26
Day 10 of #TIFF26:
• THE DIARY OF A CHAMBERMAID (dir. Radu Jude)
• ARRESTED MEMORY (dir. SABU)
• WILD HORSE NINE (dir. Martin McDonagh) 📽️
TIFF 2026 Pick: SOUMSOUM, THE NIGHT OF THE STARS
Dir. Mahamat-Saleh Haroun
A rich story about a young woman’s coming of age and her understanding of herself, her worth and her place in this world. Must be seen on a big screen; incredibly beautiful and rich in layers and themes. #TIFF26
Chris Rock returns to directing with Misty Green, a flawed yet solid Hollywood dramedy anchored by a standout lead performance from Rosalind Eleazar.

LA BOLA NEGRA (THE BLACK BALL) - A sweeping, maximalist queer epic that bypassed my critical circuitry and went straight for the heart. Gorgeous, overflowing, emotional filmmaking - the excess is the point & I loved it. The stranger beside me and I stayed behind, gushing about its beauty. #TIFF26 📽️

From a resounding “argh” to AI backlash to a certain Heated Rivalry star, @kaitlynmcgrath.bsky.social and I break down the hits and misses of #TIFF26.
great ninth day at #TIFF26 with Lee Chang-dong's Possible Love, Ira Sachs's The Man I Love, and Angela Schanelec's My Wife Cries
oh, and also cheap onigiri from Bestco
Chrissie Hynde really doesn't like to give interviews, and makes a point of saying so throughout the documentary, but PRETENDERS relies on her to be the key voice in telling the band's story anyway. #TIFF26 povmagazine.com/pretenders-r...
