The writers over here at Eos have used our good 'ole No. 2's to pencil in a vote for #graphite ✏️

Today my vote in #MinCup26 is for #Graphite - it is not only fancy pencils, but also important part of batteries.

Look, we did In operando PXRD of a battery with graphite recently.

And have more stories about graphite for next round. Vote #Graphite!

I enjoyed learning about #Cassiterite today, but I like writing too much not to vote for #graphite. (Also was juat having a conversation about allotropes with a friend the other day, so it's sort of on my mind.)

Graphite is 2-dimensional diamond. Vote #graphite #mincup26 !

Graphite inclusion trails link the corners to the centre of this andalusite crystal. From an unknown locality, in our teaching collection.

Graphite helps draw excess heat away. Copper helps dissipate heat and supports a cleaner sleep environment.
That’s sleep technology!

I vote #graphite today, since it is a material found everywhere in #battery research: by applying graphite as anode material in 1985, Nobel laureate Akira Yoshino found the final piece to build stable and lasting lithium ion batteries, which are now used in your phone, power tools and EVs. #MinCup26

Some kind of robed cult conjuring an Eldritch horror. Work in progress on a 3x3 inch board.

While better remembered for her role in DNA research Rosalind Franklin (1920 – 1958), #chemist & x-ray crystallographer made important contributions to carbon research throughout her career. The pattern on her jacket is based on her

Millie Dresselhaus (1930-2027) was known as the Queen of Carbon & was recognized for her work on graphite, graphite intercalation compounds, fullerenes (a form of carbon known as buckyballs) conductors, thermoelectrics and

Works in all kind of batteries, actually 😃. It's very easy to intercalate smaller cations like Li+ reversibly in #graphite. #MinCup26

I recently saw the #movie The Kids Are Alright with archive footage of the group #The_Who. Hence my #portrait of this #musician

Their music is excellent and stands the test of time.

Give Love, Reign o'er Me a listen!

We had writing without need for #Graphite in a pencil, at the same time #Cassiterite was critical at forming the first metal-based civilisations. This seems a no-brainer to me.

I voted #Graphite for obvious reasons. #MinCup26

#MinCup26 today - a hard one! #Cassiterite - the amazing tin mineral from my native SW England, or #graphite probably the first mineral I was aware of as a toddler "where's daddy going?" "Going to Skåland, to the graphite mines on Senja again". Decisions! Have to think about it...
