Hearing the interviews from the highschool students on PBS News Hour in Paris sounds so devastating since many students struggle with getting an education with these terrible conditions. The fact that they have to speak up in this way is so sad since they’re just kids.

I can't understand why there are no legal consequences for those students in Cornell if the victim already pursued both a criminal prosecution and her Title 9 complaint... Are they just letting this slide because of prestigiousness? 🤔

Education is a very expensive public good to provide. But it does no one ANY good to try and do it on the cheap. If our elected officials would level with the people about what it costs to provide public goods like education, we'd be better off.

It upset me to hear how victims can be blamed for drinking. Choosing to drink does not mean agreeing to sexual activity, and their reports deserve to be taken seriously.

Victims see cases like this get dismissed and grow fear to speak up. They could think that justice wont be earn for their for their suffering which can created a system where survivors feel completely unheard.

I just find it dumbfounding in how the initial investigation didn't produced results after the crime. Like why didn't they push on the investigation of those seven was it because they were part of a dumb Frat?

Our president is literally a convicted criminal with Rape/Sexual Assault charges. Now according to online sources, 84% of Cornell Uni students come wealthy backgrounds.

It's crazy what you can get away with when you have money.

I really hope Jane Doe gets the justice she deserves. This is a horrible thing to go through, and I wish it didn't go dismissed from the beginning. I can only hope everything turns out well.

I've been seeing so many posts about the sexual assault case in Cornell and it still shocks me how they haven't punished the students who did such actions... It's crazy how most of NY campuses don't face consequences related to these cases...
