Alnwick Castle reflected in the river Aln. The castle is basking in early morning light. The river leads the eye to the Lion Bridge, which is also lit up by the early morning sun. There are green reeds along the riverside in the foreground and in the meadows between the river and the castle a flock of sheep is grazing.

Another Bamburgh beach #Golden morning at low tide, from last February's trip to #Northumberland. Just love the wet sand patterns left behind which reflect the dawn light.

#BlueSkyArtShow #landscape #photography #coast

Two thirds of the image features a wide expanse of wet, golden sand reflecting the pink gold rays of morning. Tidal pools and flowing patterns feature in the foreground. On the horizon lies the imposing silhouette of Bamburgh Castle overlooking a slim sliver of sea, with dark moody clouds shading the dawn light in parts.

A black and white image of a walkway with many wooden bookshelves either side of it. The genre of each bookshelf is written in capital letters on the outside of the bookshelf.
This is at Barter Books in Alnwick,. Northumberland, England. It is one of the largest second hand bookshops in Europe.
The bookshop is housed in the town's old Victorian railway station, which was decommissioned in 1968.
Lines from poems and quotes, such as those from the Song of Solomon seen in the image, are displayed throughout the shop.
The text displayed prominently on a banner above the walkway for each row in the image is a quote from the Song of Solomon: "Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away. For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone; the flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle...".
The shop operates on a barter system, allowing customers to trade their own books for store credit.
It is known for its cozy atmosphere, featuring comfortable seating areas, open fireplaces, and a model railway that runs above the bookshelves
