Too kind… #Brexit came out of the blue. Our family are still wrestling with the immense human damage, not just the financial tragedy. We fly back from exile to #UK tomorrow, do you still have potholes and a 30% devalued currency?

Erasmus+ enabled #EU youth to study freely across nations. My family benefited beyond belief. My Erasmus ballpoint has run out of ink.

Can we take a bit of humility here FFS?

Britain shit the bed and has been lying in its own Brexit filth for the last decade.

Can we stop pretending like we are some Ubermensch?

We fucked up.... Lets approach this with humiliity.

Britain has so much to contribute to Europe and so much to gain by helping shape its future.

We share Alastair Campbell’s belief that our country should play a strong, leading role in our continent. It’s time to be ambitious about what we can achieve together. #RejoinEU #JoinEU

Balanced article.

I don't care where billionaires live. But we should all care about their investment (all investment) in this country.

What has been the biggest hit to inward investment in recent years?
It's not billionaires leaving, not even close...

It's sodding Brexit again.

The bare-bottomed cheek! 😳🍑

In @yorkshirepost.co.uk 📰, Vice Chair @jazz072.bsky.social responds to claims we're 'swimming against the tide' on Brexit 🏊.

Actually, the tide's out 🌊 - catching Brexiters without their statistical swimwear 🩳. That's the naked truth! 👇

#RejoinEU #Brexit #UKPolitics

A scanned clipping of a published letter to the editor in The Yorkshire Post on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, headlined "Brexit cheek" by Jas Olak, Vice Chair, Leeds for Europe. The Leeds for Europe logo is in the bottom right corner.

The letter responds to TW Jefferson, who accused the author of "swimming against the tide" when pointing out Brexit's economic harm. Jas Olak counters: "In fact, the tide's gone out and it's Mr Jefferson who's been caught without his metaphorical, statistical swimwear on."

The text points out that Jefferson uses figures from 2016-2025, conveniently ignoring that the UK didn't actually leave the Single Market until the end of 2020. Olak states Jefferson shows "bare-bottomed cheek" by not telling us his source, arguing that pre-2020 numbers show the Single Market was good for the UK.

Highlighting a recent House of Commons Library update (Sept 1), the letter notes UK GDP in Q2 2026 was up 6.3 per cent compared to pre-pandemic levels, while Eurozone GDP is up 7.2 per cent.

It concludes that raising trade barriers with your largest, nearest market inevitably has an adverse effect on GDP compared to neighbouring countries, finishing with the line: "That's the naked truth, Mr Jefferson."

The AfD are a borderline Nazi party. No mainstream German party will work with them.

Even the AfD intuits that a German "Brexit" is an extremism to far.

Yet the Tories and Reform refuse to drop their support for a Brexit that even a "Nazi party" considers too extreme.

Insane.

Pre-Brexit: Mid-table electricity prices:

Then Brexit, record crash of Sterling, left the Internal Energy Market, and interconnecters jumped in price.
Brexit a premium multiplier poison on top of world events.

Post-Brexit: Most expensive in world.

#RejoinEU = solution.

But sticky plasters help:

Pre Brexit UK was better in every way.
Since 2016 EVERYTHING has got worse.
Any government NOT actively seeking to reverse Brexit is doing us harm.
