On this date six years ago, I was working on building a #hiking #trail at #Cagles_Mill_Dam with the #Hoosier_Hikers_Council. Not only does #Indiana have rocks it also has hills. #geology #photography #Support_Public_Lands #B&W #monochrome

The Welch Trail takes the hiker through hills, ravines, up a sandstone cliff face, and through old growth forest. The Two Falls Trail is a hilly hike that has views of the lake as well as two ephemeral waterfalls. This photo is on the Welch Trail passing by the top of the cliff. Ten years ago I was trail running in the fog and rain.

This trail no longer exists. Years before this…the trail was was road with bridges.

I remember standing there, taking out my then Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and testing out in camera Raw.

Duct tape saved more of my hikes than any boot ever did.

Learned that lesson on a rainy ridge years ago — wrapped my heels at mile 3, finished the trail pain-free. Never left home without it since.
