I Breathe Easier in the Cold
Cool air steadies my chest.
Heat makes everything louder
pain included.
Today, my body relaxes just enough to notice itself.
I walk slower.
I think less aggressively.
Autumn doesn’t demand joy
It allows presence
and that feels merciful.
