“Why don’t Penny and I take the bags up to the room?” Weiss suggested, stepping in close beside the red-head. “And you three can get us something to eat.” “Oh! Right!” Penny nodded. “You should take it easy and let us handle the porter-duties.” “You seem to do that a lot, Weiss.” Yang stopped as Blake elbowed her in the ribs. “Thanks for the help, both of you. I’ll be up to tell you when the food’s done.” Yang nodded in recognition then. “Right. Take your time.” “But all they have to do is bring the bags…” Ruby stopped and blinked. “Oh… uh, right. Yeah, don’t worry about taking too long.” She smiled and winked. Penny tilted her head in confusion but then shrugged and gathered up bags to head up to their shared room. Weiss let her enter first and closed the doors behind them as Penny set the bags down against the wall. The taller girl turned back, hands on her hips and a smile across her face. “All right, task completed.” She looked past Weiss. “Why did you close the doors.” Weiss started to hesitantly look back over her shoulder but then shook her head. It was best to be straightforward with Penny. “Because, this was an excuse to be up here alone with you for a few minutes.” “Oh.” Penny nodded. “So, is this for cuddling purposes or is there another reason.” Weiss bit her lip and nodded before gesturing at one of the two beds in the room. “Let’s sit down for a moment.” Penny frowned in confusion but did walk over to sit down as Weiss walked over and sat down beside her, the faunus adjusting her anxiously swishing tail to avoid it being crushed under her, and slowly straightening her posture and turning to Penny.

Elrond at 150 or so, abruptly fed up with his family being the subject of every single song performed in Mithlond.

Mind you, it's hard to *avoid* singing about Elrond's family, since he's related to everyone. Maybe skip Elros, though.

Elrond slipped out the window with just a few supplies: a small set of campfire cooking tools, a good knife, a bit of rope, a stout cloak wrapped about Maglor’s harp, all of which bundled neatly into a small pack, and the bow and arrows given him by Celeborn. He knew how to hunt and forage, and presumed he could feed himself well enough for as long as he intended to be gone. His goal was vague, but there was a feeling that he had said his farewells to those the sea had taken from him, but not yet to he who had been devoured by the land. Whether the spot could be found from the description of Elros a hundred cataclysmic years earlier, and a sense of roughly how far from Mithlond they might have gone, was anyone’s guess. His fear was to find the soul of Maedhros, refusing to go into the West, becoming corrupt in its denial. His hope, though he hated to admit it even deep in his heart, was to find the soul of Maedhros for one more conversation and a farewell. But such a finding, if it happened at all, would not happen here upon the roof. He ran lightly from ridge to ridge, at last sliding down the final roof before the wall. The gates were just opening for the morning merchants with their loads of fresh herbs and vegetables. With a nod and smile to the gatekeeper, he was off. It took a day or two for the skills forever in his mind to make their way back out to his hands and feet, but he did not go hungry and he was not seen by anyone he did not wish to see him. He kept to the forest for the first few days, then found a road away from Mithlond and covered a few extra miles. There was little sign in the land, even after a mere century, of the upheavals of Beleriand’s destruction. While there were still rifts and clefts, they were cooled, gathering soil and plants. Some of the older trees had an odd crook to their trunks, showing that the land they grew in had changed its angle. He admired their acceptance of their new circumstances and pondered whether he might gain that…
