#WritersCoffeeClub 27/9: How much time passes between sitting down to write and actually writing?
Variable. Sometimes the words are ready to spill out and I can hardly get seated and open the laptop fast enough. Other…

#WritersCoffeeClub - 26 Sept.: How does your faith feature in your works?

I'm not religious, so faith doesn't feature in my writing in that sense. But if faith includes hope, trust, or the belief that understanding ourselves can make even the darker parts of being human a little less […]

#WritersCoffeeClub Sept. 26: How does your faith feature in your works?

My side WIP is based on the idea that all religions are right. We just don't listen very well.
The humor is that the MC finds out the hard way. When he tries to tell people... it goes about as well as one would expect.

#WritersCoffeeClub 26 Sept: How does your faith feature in your works?

Faith to mean what religious stuff you believe in? I think I believe in supernatural stuff, not religious; certain entities exist beyond this plane and they can influence our lives, but we don't worship them! We just […]

#WritersCoffeeClub 26. How does your faith feature in your works?

I am agnostic. Still, I believe that, deep down, people are fundamentally the same, and it's only the cultural, social, and technological context that differs - not human nature.

And that's what I am trying to emphasize in my […]

Obliquely.

#WritersCoffeeClub 26th Sep ~ How does your faith feature in your works?

My outlook is more philosophical than anything else. If I were to include faith as a dominant feature in my work, questions would be asked and the faith would be interrogated and explored.

#WritersCoffeeClub 26/9: How does your faith feature in your works?
I don’t often use the word ‘faith’ about my own beliefs, but atheism/humanism are belief systems too. There’s nothing we’d call a religion in the Shattered Moon books, but my next…

#WritersCoffeeClub Sept 26. How does your faith feature in your works?

I’m a Buddhist, and my published writing focuses on Buddhist practice. I wouldn’t say Buddhism is my “faith” however. It’s a practical philosophy that doesn’t hinge on unprovable beliefs.

The unpublished fiction I wrote has […]

#WritersCoffeeClub Sep. 26: How does your faith feature in your works?

Off-stage, I asked my (Anglican) priest during the cold war about dying in agony from fallout. She said her kids were facing the same thing. Don't decide now, she said, see if the war ends. Or if you die, of course.

#WritersCoffeeClub – 26th Sept. How does your faith feature in your works?

It really doesn't, on any significant scale. I am an atheist. A couple of characters had religious backgrounds, and one still clings to a couple rituals, but it is not critical to the story.

The only collab I’ve done is bouncing ideas off each other and giving feedback. I’m not great at sharing the writing lol.

#WritersCoffeeClub Talk about a communal writing project you worked on. How did it go?

I haven't. I'm apparently a literary hermit.

I love discussing writing, exchanging ideas, getting feedback and helping other writers untangle their stories, but when it comes to the actual writing, I work […]

#writersCoffeeClub Sept 25:
Talk about a communal writing project you worked on. How did it go?

I contributed a story for the Colorado Sisters in Crime anthology. Midway through, the woman who had been heading it up decided to quit the organization, leaving the project in limbo. Other members […]

#WritersCoffeeClub Sep 25: Talk about a communal writing project you worked on. How did it go?

The only one I can think of was the dept mission statement. I was asked to craft it, then others wordsmithed it. I learned then others can't begin.
