Driver was speeding on Harbor Drive in Barrio Logan and struck a parked vehicle, among other things. All three occupants were ejected. One died in the hospital. A second had their foot amputated and suffered burns, cuts and scrapes. Third occupant suffered life threatening head trauma. #VisionZero

O'Brien Location: 2500 Harbor Drive Neighborhood: Barrio Logan Type: Serious Injury Collision (Fatal) Synopsis: A 2018 Dodge Charger was being driven eastbound on Harbor Drive. There were three occupants in the vehicle. Their seating position is unknown. The Charger was travelling at a high rate of speed. For an unknown reason the Charger veered to the right, and collided with a parked Kia vehicle and multiple fixed objects. All three occupants of the Charger were ejected. The occupants were transported by ambulance to a local hospital. Occupant One sustained an amputation of the right foot, and was pronounced deceased at the hospital. Occupant Two sustained an amputated right foot, as well as multiple burns, abrasions, and lacerations. Occupant Three sustained severe head trauma which was classified as life threatening. S.D.P.D. Traffic Division responded and is handling the investigation. DUI is suspected. Anyone with information related to the above incident(s) is encouraged to call the listed Command handling the investigation or Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.

Motorcyclist ran a stop sign in City Heights, struck a car moving through the intersection and was ejected. He suffered a brain bleed, fractured thumb and collapsed lung. Car driver and passenger both suffered pain. #VisionZero

SDPD Watch Commander's Log Page 1 of 1 Incident: 05558 BegDateTime: 09/04/26 14:40 EndDateTime: 09/04/26 14:41 Beat: 839 Watch Commander: Sgt Scott Location: 36th St. & Wightman St. Neighborhood: Cherokee Point Type: 11-80 Serious Injury Collision Synopsis: A 69 year old male (P1) was riding a black '01 Harley-Davidson Heavyweight Heritage Softail N/B on 3700 36th St. A 49 year old male (P2) was driving a silver '12 Nissan Sentra E/B on 3600 Wightman St. P1 failed to stop for the stop sign at 36th St. and Wightman St. P1 broadsided the front passenger side of P2 and was ejected into the roadway. P1 sustained a brain bleed (observed only), fractured right thumb and collapsed left lung. P2 sustained a complaint of pain to his right arm and neck. P2's passenger had complaint of pain to her right shoulder and right clavicle. DUI was not a factor. Man driving south on Euclid Avenue, proceeded past a green light at Federal Boulevard and struck a 34-year-old woman who was attempting to cross. She suffered life-threatening injuries including a skull fracture, brain contusion, carotid artery tear and liver injury. #VisionZero

O'Brien Location: 1600 Euclid Ave. Neighborhood: Ridgeview/Webster Type: Serious Injury Collision Synopsis: A 48-year old male was driving a 2004 Mazda southbound on the 1600 block of Euclid Avenue. The Mazda was approaching a solid green traffic signal light at the intersection With Federal Blvd. A 34-year old female pedestrian was running westbound across Euclid Ave, in the marked crosswalk at Federal Blvd. The Mazda collided with the pedestrian while she was in the crosswalk. The female was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. She sustained multiple life threatening injuries including skull fracture, brain contusion, carotid artery tear, and grade 3 liver injury. S.D.P.D. Traffic Division responded and is investigating the collision. DUI was not a factor in the collision.
