Quite the eye on Hurricane #Polo this morning. 🌀
#Polo remains a solid Category 5 per recon, but changes are afoot. A lot more bursting around the eye which can be an early tell that an eyewall replacement cycle will begin soon
Hurricane #Polo ADVISORY 21 issued. Noaa aircraft measures category 5 winds in #Polo. Link
From #Nolo to #Polo to #Gonzalo – all to affect land areas – plus #Odalys, #Fay, and a wicked weekend nor'easter, the superheated E Pacific and N Atlantic are boiling with activity. Latest from @irenesans.bsky.social, @drjeffmasters.bsky.social and me:
Pour la 3e fois, l'ouragan #Polo est redevenu un système de catégorie 5, redescendant à 900hPa de pression et soufflant à 285 km/h. C'est vraiment un cyclone historique dans cette zone de l'océan mondial
Recon is on the way to #Polo now! Reminder that on some NOAA missions like this one you can see new data minute by minute! Much faster than the normal HDOB
Vous connaissez #polo ?

pour l'instant en France on s'en fout vu que l'important c'est "le pape" et "LFI" ou le "RN".
Mais tous seront balayés de la même manière par ce typhon.
"...The team recorded sustained wind speeds near 180 mph (285 km/h) and Polo is being described as one of the strongest Pacific hurricanes of the season."

Category 5 Major Hurricane #Polo rages off the southwestern coast of Mexico in the eastern Pacific 🌀
Incredible images this Friday morning, including sunrise dividing the powerful eye of Hurricane #Polo over the eastern Pacific with 160 mph maximum sustained wind. Polo is forecast to track west and northwest this weekend and curve toward Baja and into Mexico early next week.
Hurricane #Polo ADVISORY 20 issued. #Polo is an extremely powerful category 5 hurricane. Link
Recon is taking off and now en route to #Polo. It'll be very, VERY interesting to see what they find. Polo is about to move over the warmest waters it will ever encounter and shear is likely to remain low for now. ETA is probably around 2.5 to 3 hours.
We have a pair of rapidly intensifying #hurricanes in the E Pacific - #Polo (#17E) has attained Cat 5 status for the 3rd time with winds of 155 kts, while #Odalys (#16E) has become a Cat 4 with winds of 115 kts. Polo has some time to strengthen even more before shear increases.
The total insanity of #hurricane #Polo
cat5 of course
One of the strongest storms ever seen
#Polo has come back to Category 5 strength and looks quite impressive! Another big round of eyewall lightning is ongoing. We shall see what recon finds later during this second peak
Experience a real-time pass through the eye of Hurricane #Polo earlier this week! ✈️⛈️
Ride along from the front of National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) P-3 #NOAA43 "Miss Piggy" as the crew flies through the storm during a recent mission.
