#hwa4 #yingelishiparty Regardless of what words the poems sound like, the music has a big impact on how I feel. For example, even when listening to the beginnings of "Greetings," which is pretty simple, the more traditional music makes me feel happy and relaxed

#hwa4 #understandingeffect "To keep saying this one too, this one too is its own refusal of scarcity—the insistence that attachment doesn’t have to become less meaningful just because there is a lot of it." This felt like almost an out because I just listed a lot of genres I was into, it's not like

Yingelishi did not act on me through meaning, it acted through sound. At first I kept trying to understand every line, but once the somewhat modern singing took over at the 10 minute mark, I stopped decoding and just listened.

which I do not know. Of course, I do not mean any offensive remarks by saying “nonsense” mode. I naturally found myself on both playthroughs experimenting with me looking away from the text and at it on both occasions to test my perception. #hwa4 #yingelishiparty

#hwa4 #yingelishiparty The interesting thing is when the Chinese characters will be pronounced after the parts that sound "English" have already been said. For example, at the part where it says "Watching in the Dark," my brain hears the extra syllables and wants to fill in another English word

i keep getting swept up in the instruments... they are so captivating and the small break they took during the end of the video made it impossible to tune back in once everything resumed. my brain had shut off and could only process the background #hwa4 #yingelishiparty

My brain switches to “nonsense” mode every time I look away from the English translation and pronunciation text at the bottom and top of the screen. I would say this makes sense, though, since it is as if someone came up to me and started speaking to me in a language of #hwa4 #yingelishiparty

I feel the usual rules of how a language is supposed to be learned are being broken. Normally you learn meaning and grammar first, but here sound comes first. It’s quite fascinating to see a new way like this.

Way of speaking I am more familiar with. When I read the actual English translation at the bottom, I feel like I am a stranger. #hwa4 #yingelishiparty

#hwa4 #yingelishiparty It's quite striking how immediately, what the English speakers are hearing is relatively simply commands/images (like a dark room) while the Chinese speakers seems to be much more distinct imagery and concepts

Ultimately I found that even though there are some lacks of structure in some ways whether that be musical, language, or others it is just a form of disagreement. Something all humans get into oneway or anotherthe sameway we understand each other through the way we express #hwa4 #whatlisteningmakes

@bakedbyjuj.bsky.socialOct 12, 2026, 2:38 AM

did not hear 'robbery!' at ALL btw, that one was totally lost on me #hwa4 #yingelishiparty

@chillmountaineer.bsky.socialOct 12, 2026, 2:38 AM

I feel like I don't personally represent a speaker and stranger simultaneously at any point, only one or the other. What I noticed is that when I read the English at the top that best represents the pronunciation, I feel like a speaker more where I can relate the sounds to a #hwa4 #yingelishiparty

#hwa4 #genrepessure i am overly ordinary, because I hate that phase, "you're not like other girls." It's the stupidest thing ever. I want to mention how girlhood is such a spectrum, and how gendered interests are just an arbitrarily made-up concept.

@kneeuhh.bsky.socialOct 12, 2026, 2:38 AM

Even after reading these the first time and second time, and over and over. I still don't understand what the bottom half translation is supposed to be. #hwa4 #yingelishiparty

'oh my god' is what an english speaker would hear and the actual translation of the lyric sung was 'oh! a cake sakesman!' this is easily my favorite example in the entire video. must be acknowledged, i am obsessed. #hwa4 #yingelishiparty

@gabi-senior-year.bsky.socialOct 12, 2026, 2:37 AM

#hwa4 #yingelishiparty Both the first and the second time listening through this it is always surprising when it goes from the transition to instruments to the singing and how it really does sound like English!

@moremoer.bsky.socialOct 12, 2026, 2:37 AM

A moment when I stopped trying to understand happened quite literally when I stopped reading the words on the screen and closed my eyes. Only listening to a combination of the two languages. #hwa4 #whatlisteningmakes

@chillmountaineer.bsky.socialOct 12, 2026, 2:37 AM

So I would say that I felt this recording “hit my forehead,” where I tried to consciously think and attempt to understand what was being spoken. #hwa4 #yingelishiparty

@rw20mmc.bsky.socialOct 12, 2026, 2:36 AM

I can't lie sometimes I felt like whatever I was listening to was just a philosophers great idea while greened out because as a musician I have an idea of what I think music is and how it connects with each thing and that also was put into question just like language #hwa4 #whatlisteningmakes
