Only turns out THAT was a fake, an implanted fake memory to keep him KO'd and possibly fix his brain from there...except the gestalt personality might be someone new from both father AND son. #GhostInTheShell #StandAloneComplex

Over at the memorial, the event's starting...but the crowd is flooding in too fast and our team can't keep track! #GhostInTheShell #StandAloneComplex

Yes, I'm still watching. But with GiTS I like to give episodes my undivided attention so I don't miss details on things.

...except when the kid learned the truth, well, teenage anger and all that military training actually caused a new imperfect GESTALT personality and the dad side is telling Aramaki one thing: I can no longer tell if it's me or my kid doing this, stop me. #GhostInTheShell #StandAloneComplex

It turns out the way in was a terminal that Yu wanted, his dad's, ever since he was a kid. Well, dad put his ghost in the machine and thus it moved into Yu. Yeah, we got bad parents here, of course, but jack your own kid's body's pretty dang low. #GhostInTheShell #StandAloneComplex

So, with the okay for the Chinese official to visit, a lot of people are up in arms over everything, including a death threat, and the team narrowed down who it might be.

Unrelated, Aramaki is learning Japan is a small town...it's sonny boy. #GhostInTheShell #StandAloneComplex

"You don't think Yu got mixed up into something?" Well...what's the cyberpunk version of an exorcist? #GhostInTheShell #StandAloneComplex

Shortly after the boss leaves, Aramki sees his friend's daughter and she's got a bit of an odd request. See, turns out baby brother has been messing with something and is resembling their dad...TOO DAMN CLOSE resembling their dad. #GhostInTheShell #StandAloneComplex

Meanwhile, Aramaki and one of his bosses pay tribute to a mutual friend who I'm sure will can NEEEEEEEEEEEEEVVVVVVVVVEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRR bother anybody while dead. #GhostInTheShell #StandAloneComplex

"I only wear this to keep the men at bay."
Translation: Aramaki go GET you some!

Up next, we get questions on life, revenge, and the literal ghosts of our families as the team have to stop a young man willed by his father's ghost to start another war. "Assassination Duet – LOST HERITAGE." #GhostInTheShell #StandAloneComplex

We get a Tachikoma Days as we see one of them drunk on natural oil and having an out of body experience. #GhsotInTheShell #StandAloneComplex

This was a nice little side story. I love anything that explores Aramaki's past and shows him more than the stern boss...but, again, what part of America is this British town in? #GhostInTheShell #StandAloneComplex

Turns out his friend isn't married, wearing the ring to keep the men at bay...buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut it's too late to tell him that as he's gotta book it back to Japan...after a bit of wine tasting. #GhostInTheShell #StandAloneComplex

The Major rescues everybody, the goons get let go on the grounds of "Well, the mafia did try to kill you, so I'll let you off with a warning," and the bank president, due to capturing A JAPANESE NATIONAL gets busted by Aramaki. #GhostInTheShell #StandALoneComplex

"Bastards..." Look, I'm more forgiving from dubs of this era because it was a different time and we still get great performances out of these guys...

...but even I gotta ask what part of America is this British town in? #GhostInTheShell #StandAloneComplex

Of course, the Major takes the horny idiot's SWAT gear just before everybody breaks into the room and finds it empty...

*CLICK*

...and find out their first hostage rigged to go boom...except THAT'S a fake. #GhostInTheShell #StandAloneComplex

SWAT Dude: What do mean "personal"?
(Sees Majors cleavage, then gets gutpunched)

Y'know for some people I know...
#GhostInTheShell #StandAloneComplex #Episode17 #AnimeRetroRewatch @digiranma.bsky.social

The Major needs to figure out a way to sneak in.

Yeah, all I need to mention the American sounding British guy, one of many, is a very herosexual guy today...and the Major is in nothing but a trench coat.

*WHACK* #GhostInTheShell #StandAloneComplex

Well, the Major ain't no moron, so she calls the press so there's eyes on the cops, thus the whole "Accidentally fell on multiple bullets when we blew them up" might not work, so it's time to bum rush. #GhostInTheShell #StandAloneComplex
