The finch in the brush
The sight of it makes me #flinch
From its sheer beauty.

I learned the rules
When I was young
Boys don’t cry

You can cry if you break a bone
But you never cry over feelings

In our present queer world
We have such shitty options
Our culture so static
Our spirit of rebellion bled dry

Subterranean reflexes
In search of
A friendly hug
Never mind the
Filthy world
Dirty knees just
Transient in nature
Eyes to see
Though new glass
A lens darkly
Narrating the way
Caverns aplenty
Blue sky memory
And spare change
The sound of words
And voices
That seem to carry

An offering to my shamanic creed
This is a sacrilegious need
A tantric truth long prophecied

reprieve
…
the flash makes them flinch
in constant rolling thunder
cattle center the plain
…
there'll be no hunting tonight
not in the driving rain

Rumbling crumbling inside
Cracks forming
Cemented in my soul.
Fear burgeoning out
Anxiety storms, swells,
Breaking me
Into rubble.

I cry burning tears
Unquenchable
In a torrid succession.

I am alone.
All alone always
