Sutcliffe is pushing a string here as the City is not the builder of homes. And affordable homes require federal & provincial assistance as the City is not able to subsidize these. Currently the feds & province have no plans here. #emptypromise #ottcity

Good goals but not achievable without federal & provincial support. Property taxes are inadequate to subsidize the rents. #ottcity

Yup. #OttCity took a good bus system and wrecked it, hanging all hopes on LRT when what it needed was a regional system serving burbs and beyond and a prioritized system for DT core so buses didn’t jam up sharing road space with cars (curtiba style boarding, for example).

Some language I'd like cleared up in the list of motions from the 23 Sep 2026 #OttCity Council meeting:

"A by-law of the City of Ottawa to establish certain lands as common and public highway and assume them for public use (name of street)"

The Convoy protest went beyond legitimate protest when it infringed on the liberties of others. Lawson has the right to support whatever he chooses: I disagree with his choice of supporting this protest and will not support him for Mayor. #ottcity

Stunning grid and energy illiteracy: local fake "environmental" group CAFES says Ottawa "imports" power. Well, yes: we're part of a provincial grid. "Local" power means polluting industrial wind turbines and toxic solar panels on good farmland. #ottcity
