I've made MinCup a holiday in my calendar. I was very concerned about missing it this year. #MinCup26

"Which rocks are lickable?" and "Which rocks have been used in lasers" seem to be relevant questions in #MinCup26

Come on, people!

Cuprite is gorgeous, but baked potatoes without salt? Bread without salt? Popcorn without salt? Cakes, cookies, and caramel without salt? A mineral that allowed us to preserve food and thus journey, that is indispensable to life.

VOTE HALITE.

#MinCup26 SEMI-FINALS!!!

Filters will holding strong for #MinCup26. I’m needing to dig far more into traffic logs than I ever wanted, but hey, silver lining is I get the happy glow of recognizing voting in Mineral Cup is a part of so many daily office rituals? 😂

Voting for #halite in #MinCup26 🧪⚒️ because thick layers of halite can be used to store hydrogen as a low carbon fuel! Low permeability so the H₂ stays put, large caverns can be created (just add water!) and it has a smaller engineering footprint compared to options on the surface.

Report cover from the Australian Government's Geoscience Australia. The upper portion is a solid teal panel with the Australian Government coat of arms and logo at top left. White text reads "Record 2023/05 | eCat 146489," followed by the large bold title "Feasibility of underground hydrogen storage with salt caverns in the offshore Polda Basin, South Australia." Below the title, the record number is repeated with the authors L. Wang, S. Rees, L. Carr and A. J. Feitz. A footer line reads "Earth sciences for Australia's future | ga.gov.au." The bottom fifth of the cover is a macro photograph of coarse, angular mineral grains in shades of translucent white, cream, pink and rusty orange-brown, scattered densely against a dark background.

#StaySalty, but be sure to vote for the mineral that moves mountains, Halite.
