Hoping to develop a roll of film this weekend, as it’s been quite a while. In the meantime I’ve been sharing my test prints. This is a half frame photograph printed onto mulberry paper again made using my Pentax 17 and Ilford FP4 developed with DD-X.

A black and white 6x4 half frame photograph of the Lake District fells in the background framed by the trunk of a large tree in the foreground. The photograph is printed onto delicate mulberry paper creating an almost water colour like quality.

A long exposure shot of the River Caldew cascading over smooth rocks, Caldbeck, Cumbria earlier this month (03/09/2026)
The name Caldbeck means cold stream and has Norse origins.
#caldbeck #cumbria #lakedistrict #nature #trees #rivers #photography #eastcoastkin

A woodland scene with the view of a small waterfall cascading over smooth rocks on the River Caldew, Caldbeck, Cumbria, England on a sunny September day.
It is a shot taken with a long exposure.
The view is framed by lush verdant trees on both sides of the river.
There are moss-covered stones on the river bank, and particularly vibrant on the dark rocky ledges in the left foreground.
The water flows over smooth rocks and dark rock ledges, creating small cascades.
In the background there are glimpses of light filtering through the green leaves.
The river is also illuminated where the sunlight breaks through the tree canopy onto patches of the foaming water.

The fast-flowing river once powered numerous local industries, including paper, bobbin, and flour mills.

We're trying to fill Graham's feed (@oldmanrambling.bsky.social) with Robins on his dearly missed Janet's 83rd birthday.
Please post a Robin if you can with the hashtag #ForJanet

A close up of a European Robin perched on a thorny brown branch on a winters day. It appears to have a thoughtful expression.
Taken at Keswick, Cumbria, England.
It is looking upwards in a side profile facing to the right of the picture with its right eye visible. It has an orange-red face and breast, dark eye, short and thin bill, brown cap, tail and upper feathers, a white-grey body and dark pink-brown legs.
Its skinny legs and feet grip around the brown tree branch.
The background is blurred daylight with brown branches.

Some places don’t need sunshine to shine. 🌥️ The rolling fells, tranquil water, and timeless beauty of the Lake District make every visit unforgettable. 💙⛰️
