This walk circuits Threshfield Moor passing through Bordley, sometimes known as Bordley Town. The route passes some lovely limestone scenery typical of the #YorkshireDales and gives good views too. See www.happyhiker.co.uk/MyWalks/York...

Autumn is arriving at Shaw Ghyll Wood, where Hardraw Beck tumbles through a series of short waterfalls before reaching Hardraw Force and continuing on its journey to the River Ure. 🍂

#YorkshireDales #WaterfallWednesday

A small waterfall on Hardraw Beck flows over dark limestone steps through Shaw Ghyll Wood. Early autumn leaves in shades of green, yellow and orange frame the scene, while mature trees and dense woodland line the beck. The water tumbles into a calm pool before continuing downstream beneath overhanging branches.

The name Langstrothdale comes from Old English and is generally translated as "long marsh" or "marshy ground", suggesting that early settlers saw the valley as a wet, boggy landscape shaped by the upper reaches of the River Wharfe.

A view so good even Turner painted it. 🎨💦

Hardraw Force has been inspiring visitors for generations. Framed here by autumn colour and dramatic limestone cliffs, it's easy to see why artists, walkers and photographers keep coming back.

Anyone else catch the incredible sunset across the Dales on Friday evening? This is how it looked in Wensleydale 🔥

#YorkshireDales #Sunset #Wensleydale

Stone-walled fields in a rural farming landscape at sunset, with a tractor parked beside a stone barn in the foreground. A dramatic band of glowing orange and gold light stretches across the horizon beneath dark clouds, while trees, farm buildings and rolling hills are silhouetted against the vivid sky. Lush green pasture fills the foreground, framed by traditional dry-stone walls.

We are working with the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust and RSPB to deliver an exciting project that will work with a number of local communities to help save four iconic bird species 👇
