Dales Young Rangers go undergroundπ¦ First, we visited Brian and his team at Clapham Cave Rescue to learn about the incredible work carried out by volunteers across the mountain rescue community. Later, we visited Ingleborough Cave where we met John, who gave us a fascinating tour of the showcave π
The name Langstrothdale comes from Old English and is generally translated as "long marsh" or "marshy ground", suggesting that early settlers saw the valley as a wet, boggy landscape shaped by the upper reaches of the River Wharfe.
