These #birds leave their #WingsOpenNotFlying but we still don’t quite know why. Theories include aiding thermoregulation, digestion or indicating the presence of fish.

An Anhinga, or Snake Bird sits in a tree over the still, blackwater canal off Heron Lake. It’s surrounded by the lush rainforest that thrives along with its residents.
