Another mysterious bold of lightning kills off the spider demon as Taki and Maki have a joint dream of them...

(Sees the cross)

...desecrating holy ground...

Only it turns out to NOT be a dream. How'd the get there and is Jesus enjoying the view up there? #WickedCity

The three are caught up in a literal spider's web in the tunnel leading to a fight. Oh, c'mon, Taki, fuck her again, it convinced her to let you live the first time. #WickedCity

Yes, seriously, this happened. OVA directors and artists are also known for some of their works on kids shows and movies and regular TV. Figuratively speaking, when HBO says you can go nuts, you go nuts. #WickedCity

Well, before they could get to the hotel for..."Religious conversion," turns out the old guy hid in the backseat and...well, yeah they got fired. However, boy are they showing restraint as nobody acts on the desire to punch an old guy. #WickedCity

(Read Wiki)
Wait...Miyazaki saw this and was so impressed by the art direction he got the guy on this to work on MY NEIGHBOR TOTORO?!

Taki and Maki take advantage of being fired to...

www.youtube.com/watch?v=izGw...

I know it's a break up song, but how many people have used the sax for this purpose still anyway? #WickedCity

(Sees Taki and Maki going for a night drive while 90s romance pop starts to swell louder and louder)

Back with where Taki was shooting up the bad guys, and---

youtu.be/DscJ5PFkZxQ?...

Him and the spider-demon from earlier talk something about Taki and Maki's genetics and this being connected to the treaty and it's the spider-demon's turn. #WickedCity

I mean, yeah, what Taki did will factor into the twist later...but all this does is tell the demons and humans (BTW, where are the humans trying to stop this?) that wanna stop this "Wait, the old guy's alone and those two have no protection? Sweet!" #WickedCity

Well, going to rescue your partner? Yeah, that's...TECHNICALLY...gone AWOL so they got fired.

Again, I know the twist, so...why? #WickedCity

(Sees Maki break into a fashion store and get an all white outfit...and remembers the twist)

...I never said the OVA market was subtle. #WickedCity

...so...why's it odd for Maki to be a Black Guard? The narration earlier said BOTH SIDES had people and demons that were curious enough about each other's world to try to make things in peace and harmony in the first place. #WickedCity

"You've become very important to me..." In the mere hours I've known you. #WickedCity

Well, apparently, GOD has had enough of this padding, so in comes some lighting to free Maki and stun the bad enough enough for Taki to get a clean shot in! #WickedCity

"Wasn't that good, wasn't that the best ever?"
I feel like the psychosexual elements of this movie would go well with Belladona of Sadness. Also considering recent events at a certain college a movie like that can also add to the conversation.
#WickedCity #AnimeRetroRewatch @digiranma.bsky.social

Well, there's a twist, somehow the bodies of the dead demons merge with the head bad guy making him a bigger bad guy and bulletproof. Hey, we're only 51 minutes into an 80 minute movie, we gotta add more to what the studio paid for somehow. #WickedCity

Of course, Taki shoots the walking vigina in her big target, punches his way through the bad guys (Literally) and saves Maki. But, hey, the bad guy's giving him time to reload the gun so, that's nice. #WickedCity

"Wasn't that the best ever?" ...sometimes I miss when the most psychological I got with my sci-fi is that Twilight Zone episode where the grown man plays the piano that turns him into a kid and he picks his ghost mom and childhood over his new bride... #WickedCity

And before ANYBODY says anything, yes, I'm an American. I'm well aware Western philosophies of demons coincide with sex in some way, on purpose (Succubi) or practical (Some witches look sexy)...but Japan takes 'em to that EXTRA level. #WickedCity

(Sees one of the demons hypnotize Taki into making out with her...as it becomes a giant vigina) ...you can never convince me the OVA market WASN'T created for creators, especially those hog tied by TV censors and being on kids shows, to work out deep issues. #WickedCity
