#watchingtonight: this is such a treat seeing Heather Langenkamp (returning after a nasty stalker incident) and Robert Englund as themselves as well as Freddy. But, really, this #movie is SMART. It does meta unlike even Wes Cravens Scream (where I never made it past II.) #horror #filmsky

No, I am NOT skipping Nightmare on Elm Street 5: Freddy’s Dead. ONE DOES NOT SIMPLY SKIP MOVIES IN THE FRANCHISE. DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR?!?

Okay then. #watchingtonight #horror #movies

Possibly unpopular #horrormovie opinion: Alice from Dream Warrior/Dream Child makes for a decent final girl. She’s no Nancy but those are some hard shoes to fill. She grows nicely as a character and makes for a good foil for the bastard son of 1,000 maniacs. #movies #horror #watchingtonight

#watchingtonight: going on with my Freddy binge. The Dream Master may not have been the strongest sequel as killing off the remainder of the Dream Warriors was a mistake (particularly Kincaid) but it gave us some decent Robert Englund time. #movies #horror #Spooktober

#watchingtonight: Dream Warriors. It doesn’t matter who you are. Ever since the days of Ray Harryhausen, stop motion skeletons are ALWAYS going to be fucking cool. ALWAYS.

Have I mentioned how much I love spooky #movies? I don’t have a favorite genre but I do love me some spooky fun! #horror

#watchingtonight: Are You Ready For Freddy? I love the Elm Street series, even the so-called “bad ones.” Heather Langenkamp kicked some serious ass. Naturally, all of hers were the best ones BUT..of all the ones she wasn’t in…part 2 is actually kind of my favorite #horror #movies #spookyseason

Creepshow is one of the most fun #horror #movies of all time. I doubt anyone who has seen its glory would ever dare debate that. My personal favorite would be the OG Evil Dead trilogy for THE most fun but it’s a close second.

And it has the slowest moving Ed Harris in history. #watchingtonight

#watchingtonight: Abbot and Costello Meet Jekyll and Hyde…but we all know the met the wrong Jekyll and Hyde.

David Hasselhoff, the vibrato that never stops…no matter how much you beg it to. #humor #movies #filmsky

As a kid I rented the Abbot and Costello Meet…series and they taught me to laugh at things that would otherwise scare me. HOWEVER….Abbot and Costello do NOT meet Frankenstein. That was the name of the scientist. NOT the creature. HAVE I MADE MYSELF GOOD AND CLEAR?!? #watchingtonight #movies #horror

Once again I have to give kudos to #AreYouAfraidoftheDark for doing a respectable job with their monster. I love the 1922 Nosferatu for Max Schrecks eerie performance as Drac—er—“Count Orlock” and Albin Graus makeup. #horror #watchingtonight

Me: Are You Afraid of the Dark couldn’t POSSIBLY terrify me again.

Also me: weeeeellp, time to set fire to my television set.

#horror #humor #watchingtonight

#watchingtonight: Dracula. The very first of the Universal talking #horror movie monsters. Even with the strings on bats and the obviously fake spider, this is the most effective of them. There’s a quiet, dreamlike nature to it that is downright unnerving. And of course Lugosi. #movies #filmsky

#watchingtonight: Bride of Frankenstein. If we’re going for serious takes on Mary Shelleys immortal work, even with Branaugh and Del Toro on the table, Frankenstein and Bride are the best versions.

I also love the Wishbone version. I’m sure @calamityjane516.bsky.social will say the same 😁 #horror

#watchingtonight: Frankenstein. I’ve met people who say they have never watched and will never watch a black and white #Movie. I feel bad for these people. These #movies are fucking BEAUTIFUL and a treat for anyone who wants to see great acting. #spookyseason #filmsky

#watchingtonight: giving this a try via Tubitv tonight. Kind of disappointing to see the Midnight Society don’t engage in any blood rituals ie human sacrifices. But really, I don’t see how this could possibly scare any—OH GOOD BUTTERY FUCKING CHRIST THERE IS A CLOWN!!!! WHY CLOWN?!? #horror

#watchingtonight: the Creature From the Black Lagoon. It’s no secret that this #movie was a great inspiration for Spielberg on the set of the immortal Jaws. It’s particularly evident here 👇 You just substitute Gill Man with a big-ass great white shark and it’s Chrissies fate in black and white.

#watchingtonight: Another classic monster #movie, the Wolf Man. This has all the makings of a grrrrrrreat #horror movie: gothic settings, spooky woods, fog, Bela Lugosi, Lon Cheney Jr. and fantastic makeup effects by Jack Pierce. Amazing supporting cast too. You GOTTA love the Universal monsters.

I finished Deadwood. It was good. But now is #spookyseason. “But, Zach,” says you, “it’s only September.” Yeeeeeah, don’t question me, Buster! Now. Is. Spooky. Season. Mmmkay?

Starting it off with some classic spooksters, the Universal monsters. #watchingtonight: the Mummy from 1932 #movies

#watchingtonight: Deadwood. Brad Dourif just makes everything more fun. Cuckoos Nest, Tales From the Crypt, the Two Towers, the X Files…he makes demented seem fun. And that one series he did…oh, what was it?

I don’t remember but I hear he’s an absolute DOLL to work with 😁 #horror

I KNEW POWERS BOOTHE WAS CURLY IN TOMBSTONE!!!! WHO SAYS I DIDN’T?!? WHOM AMONG YOU SLANDERS MY NAME?!?!?

S—-SHUT UP!!!!
